Hydra

Two imperfect views. One better measurement.

Combining radar and camera observations for leaf wetness sensing in changing field conditions.

The sensor is a starting point. The representation decides what we can use.

The question

How can we measure wetness on real leaves when lighting and plant conditions vary?

The idea

Fuse complementary mmWave depth images and RGB features, rather than relying on one observation channel.

What the evidence shows

Hydra prototypes a radar–camera sensing system and evaluates leaf wetness classification in controlled and field settings. Its field experiments include changing light and weather. The paper establishes a sensing result; it does not establish persistent world understanding.

What it opens up

Fusion raised a representation question: can information learned from one modality remain useful when only the other is available? Proteus follows that question.
